Dear Molly, on the night before Preschool 3

Oh, Molly, Molly.

Where should I begin?  See that look you're giving in the picture?  That's been your attitude lately; and, frankly, it has not been fun to deal with.  I guess it is because you are out of your routine these last two weeks (you have not been in day care - you stayed with Daddy all last week and Nannie all this week).  I'm hoping school gets you back to your happy, silly self.

It seems so very strange to me to be sending you off to OLPS at the ripe old age of 2.5!  I wonder if you will be the youngest one there??  You are very smart, but also very silly.  We know you know your colors, but sometimes you just will not say them correctly.  You can say your ABCs, but are not able to identify them yet; Daddy and I have discussed this and we will be teaching them to you soon!  You can count to twenty, but you always skip 14 and 15 for some reason!??!  However, you have been so defiant lately that you will not count when we ask you to do so!  You know your teachers' names, and have been talking about them for a long time; but, when Mrs. Phyllis asked you if you knew her name, you said, "No!"  You also know the Hail Mary, Our Father and the prayer before meals.

I know you will do just fine this year at OLPS, but it's next year that I'm really concerned about with you.  With your birthday at the middle of September, you just barely make the cut-off.  Daddy doesn't seem concerned about it at all, but I think if you aren't mature enough after Pre-K, that we will have a long discussion.  I'm a little worried also about you only being one grade behind Mary Claire; I don't want you to ever feel left out, or like you get only the seconds.

Molly, I hope you have a fun, fun year in PreSchool 3 at OLPS!  I'm very proud to call you my baby girl and I love being your Mommy!
