Happy 4th birthday Mary Claire!

Mary Claire,

I can NOT believe you are four years old already!  It seems like just yesterday I was praying for you!  I remember the day you joined our lives so vividly.  I could not believe how big you were and how beautiful you were!  I had always prayed to God for a blonde hair, blue-eyed daughter and He answered two of the three prayers just as I requested!

You are a very sweet and well-mannered little girl when you are with Nannie or at school.  You are not bad at home, but you and Molly had been fighting a lot; y'all are playing together a lot better lately and it makes my heart smile.  I hear sisters have a special bond, and I hope that with you and Molly being so close in age that the bond y'all have and are strengthening every day stays solid.

You are a very smart little girl.  You pick up on many things!  When we ask you about events and school stuff you don't really answer, but you will eventually tell us on your terms.  You love, love, love school!  This makes my heart happy as well!  I hope your daddy and I have passed on our love of learning to you!

You are VERY inquisitive lately!  It can be a little taunting and aggravating, but I know it is part of your learning process.  You have asked me the meaning of many words lately - opportunity, enjoy, and what it means when I "took the day off!"

You are wanting to help me and Daddy cook a lot lately.  You have a helping heart and love to help fold clothes and put them up.  You will help me clean up if I am in there helping you, and you have cleaned up your room a couple of times by yourself.

I am loving this age and this time with you, Mary Claire!  I loved watching you watching the fireworks the other night.  I loved how you wanted to make silly faces and take pictures the other night.  I hope all these fun times are making sweet memories for you because I sure have some great ones!

I love you, Mary Claire, and am proud of the little girl you are becoming!  Happy birthday!!

Love,
Momma

Melts my heart

I know the picture is blurry, but when I woke up this morning and saw this I almost cried! Molly has been waking up and getting in our bed, but I guess she found Mary Claire to snuggle up with last night!

Natchitoches Christmas Lights 2012

Brian was able to take off and bring us to Natchitoches for the opening ceremony of the Natchitoches Christmas Light Festival.  We had a great time and are so thankful to Daddy for bringing us!

 Santa wasn't home in Natchitoches
We love kind strangers who offer to take a picture of all of us!

I can't believe this girl will be 4 in one week!

Patiently waiting for the lights to come on and the fireworks!
 Funny face picture!

Molly's reaction was priceless!  The lights came on and she said, "Look at all this!"  The first firework went off and she said, "Wow!"  I love making memories like this!

Mary Claire funny

I got in the bathtub with girls and stretched my legs out. Mary Claire says, "Ewww, you need to shave your legs; they are crunchy!"

Sugar Day Festival

Yesterday, the Kent House hosted the Sugar Day Festival.  They had childrens' activities, demonstrations, tours of the house, food and arts and crafts.  We had a fun time!

We had to park a couple of blocks away!

These girls always chicken out when asked to get their faces painted.  The lady finally talked them into painting their hands!

Now Mary Claire goes around "painting" ours with toys!  Hahaha!

They had a little petting zoo....

A goat
 A donkey
 Horse rides!

 Rabbits
 A pig

We had a fun day and are loving all the activities the Kent House has!

Election Day 2012

Well, today is Election Day.  Brian and I early-voted a couple of weeks ago, so we didn't have to go to the poll.

OLPS was closed, so Mary Claire stayed home with Brian.  They came and ate lunch with me at work, went to the mall and played and then went to the movie and saw Hotel Transylvania.  Brian said she did good and liked the movie, but she won't tell me anything about it.  I then asked him if he took any pictures, and the answer was no.  Sad face.  I have nothing to document what they did!

Fingers crossed that we bring God back to America tonight!

Mary Claire's first official homework project!

She's only three, but the homework has begun!  Hahaha!

Mrs. Sarah Kate sent home two feather outlines and we had to decorate them. I brought her to the store and let her pick out what to use to decorate them.

Here she is painting the first one pink:
On the second one, we glued and stickered fall leaves:
I'm curious to see what Mrs. Sarah Kate thinks about the birthday one!  But, as Daddy said, Mary Claire's birthday is what happens at Thanksgiving!
These will be used to decorate the class turkey!

Cute outfits

This cute dress Molly has on was passed down from Emily and Isabella.  I don't think Mary Claire ever got to wear it, but I knew as soon as I found Molly's moccasins that they would be adorable with this dress.  And the pig tails just had so much to the cuteness!
Mary Claire's dress is actually a summer dress with thin straps, but the colors are good for the fall, so we paired it with her cute jean jacket and a cute outfit decent for church was made!
This is their new way to take pictures - hugging!

Little car

The girls LOVE Poppa's Mini Cooper!  They love it even more when Poppa drives them up and down the driveway!  Nannie thinks this is just great, so we decided to get some pictures!
