Alexandria Mardi Gras 2017

We decided to go to the Children's Parade downtown Saturday morning because I was working evenings all weekend.

Daddy used hair chalk on the girls' hair before we left!

My cuties on our way!

The parade was really good!  We stood at the very beginning, got lots of beads and had a great time!

The OLPS Pre-K Mardi Gras parade was the Thursday before the girls got out for Mardi Gras break.  I was off and went.  I stood with Mary Claire.  She is such a rule follower that the other kids were "crossing the line" and jumping out and snatching things.  :(  It made me really sad.
You can see here where she's behind the line.

Molly and the first graders were across the street.  They were instructed to sit the whole time which was much more fair to everyone!

After the parade, we had King Cake in their classrooms.  This girl ate three pieces!!  YUMMY!

365 pictures - sadly ended

Last week just proved to be too much to continue with my daily pictures.  :(

Hopefully I will be more aware and snap some pictures here and there to keep the blog up and running!

In other news, the girls each learned to ride their bikes yesterday!

Uncle Thomas, Aunt Belinda, Aunt Martha and Uncle Tom were all in town, and we were all sitting around Nannie and Poppa's patio.  Next thing I know, the girls and I have walked over and gotten their bikes and our one helmet, and Uncle Tom, Uncle Thomas and Uncle Mike were out there teaching them!  Next thing I saw was Mary Claire riding up and down Mary Lee's driveway!

Starting and stopping is still being learned, as well as turning around, but they did amazing!  Finally!!!!

LSUA Basketball at the renovated Coliseum!

The Coliseum finally re-opened after doing many renovations!  The LSUA basketball teams were playing there for $5 a ticket, so we went to watch the girls' team play and also to see the renovations!

David, Aspen, Tucker and Anna met us there!  Since we were early, the girls each got some purple and gold pom-poms!

This jumper and slide made the day for the kids - and also allowed us grown-ups to watch the game!

Skating

Molly went to a skating birthday party!  She had a blast!!  Her bestie, Addison, was there and helped Molly to skate!

For Valentine's Day, we bought each girl a pair of skates so they can practice at home for the next skating party!

Intramural basketball season ends for Mary Claire

Mary Claire's team finally won a game!  They won their last game of the season with Mary Claire making SEVEN baskets to the other team's six baskets!

Mary Claire, you improved so much over those four weeks!  You really started to understand the game and play aggressively!  Way to go!!!
