Explosions.....
Poor Molly! We just can't seem to get her tummy right. It's really frustrating to me and I feel so sorry for her!
Mary Claire had to be on soy formula, and we correctly assumed that Molly would as well. Her first two bottles of milk-based formula in the hospital promptly came back up. Well, soy formula is constipating, and of course Molly got constipated. At her one month appointment, her doctor did a rectal exam because we told him she hadn't had a bm in two days. We then had to give her a glycerin suppository once a day for seven days and then every other day as needed. I then mentioned to her doctor that she spits up with every feeding. He told us that hopefully once we got the constipation corrected that the spitting up would end. Wrong! The constipation resolved and she was still spitting up....alot! So Brian and I then tried putting rice cereal in her bottles in hopes that a thicker formula would settle in her stomach better. Well, then her bms then changed to runny and loose. We tried it for a few more days hoping that the new problem would correct itself. By the way, she's still spitting up! Well, last night was the last straw for Brian! We knew she had a bm and he picked her up to change her and poo was EVERYWHERE....from her chest to her toes! We were able to salvage her outfit, but the onesie had to be cut off her! So, we are now back to square one.....3-3.5oz soy formula every 3-3.5hours. I'm lost! And she's still spitting up! So very, very frustrating! Any thoughts??? Molly's pediatrician did say that if she still spit up after the constipation resolved that we could call and discuss starting her on reflux meds. But I know that she will just be started on zantac (or some other h2 antagonist) that works only a few days and is very much weight-based (so any small amount of weight gain will mean the current dose will be too low). Ugh!
Okay, today is Halloween! Mary Claire is the cutest bumble bee you have ever seen (if we can get her to wear her costume!) and Molly will be the cutest flower ever! Mary Claire did wear her costume for a picture at day care (because of seeing the other kids in their costumes I'm sure), so if I don't get a picture of her in her costume this evening, I will take a picture of her picture from day care to post. I can't wait to see my girls dressed up!

I'm back!
So I had a wonderful visit with Gammie and Granddad today....well, mostly with Gammie! She got to feed my sweet Molly and we talked "mommy talk." I told Gammie I hoped to revive my blog, some here's to me trying to keep it up!
Right now I'm sitting in bed between my two beautiful daughters....trying to decide if I should risk moving Molly to her bed or not! She's been doing wonderfully in her own crib (well, Mary Claire's crib she used once or twice!) and I don't want to start a habit of her being in our bed as well. (Yes, Mary Claire still sleeps with us! I don't want her all the way across the house just yet!) But, Molly's been really gassy and fussy tonight and I know that I'm going to take a chance moving her. {Aahhh, sweetness, Mary Claire just rolled towards me and is now holding my arm! That makes me feel so good, y'all, because I know how hard having a little sister has been on her! I know she feels put on the back-burner, but subconsciously she does still love me!}

Okay, well I'm back! Going to put Molly to bed. Sorry for the randomness of this blog entry! And this picture is for Gammie....
