My smart Mary Claire can now recite both the Hail Mary and the Our Father! We practice every night, usually with Mary Claire repeating the lines after me. Two nights ago, I started saying the Our Father, and she just took over and said the whole thing! Way to go sweet girl!
And little Molly is trying her hardest! Last night Brian was laying with them, and just listening to her repeat the prayers after her Daddy melted my heart!
Keep it up girls!! I love you more than you know!

Mary Claire's Funnies
Me: Mary Claire, was your boyfriend at school today?
MC: I don't have a boyfriend! I have a girlfriend!
Brian: Who is your girlfriend?
MC: Genevieve
Brian: Well, at least she's pretty!
The color white: Wipe
Uniform: Still calls it a unicorn!
MC after her Valentine's Day Party: Well, Love Day is over. Now it's time for Easter and that big bunny to bring us stuff!

Valentines for Preschool
Mary Claire had a homework assignment to make Valentines for her class. They could be as simple as store-bought, or as elaborate as you wanted. The only requirement was that the other students' names had to be written on the "To" line, and that Mary Claire had to write her name on the "From" line.
I think we did a good job, and I am really proud of her writing her name!
Little sister got to play with the leftovers! Ha!

City of Alexandria Mardi Gras Parade
Well, Nannie, Poppa and I braved the rain and brought the girls to the "big" parade Sunday. Because of the chance of bad weather, the city and Mardi Gras Association decided to move the parade from its regular time of two p.m. to ten a.m. We saw lots of people posting on Facebook who were frustrated at the time change; they were complaining that Sunday at ten a.m. was church time -- thank goodness we are Catholic and had gone to church Saturday evening! Ha!
The girls, especially Mary Claire, had a great time! The parade was much shorter than usual, and we had a great spot! Poppa held Molly on top of the stroller and Mary Claire stood on the stroller the whole time. Despite the overcast and slightly rainy weather, we had a great time!

Riley's birthday party
We got invited to Riley Collins' (PeeWee's little girl) birthday party at Slinkee's. This was our first experience at Slinkee's that wasn't a private party. Needless to say, it will be a while before we attempt that again! I told the girls they could slide on one certain slide while Nannie and I ate birthday cake; Mary Claire came down the slide hollering for Molly. Molly had run off. I panicked as we could not find her. I ran to the owner, explained to him what happened, and as he was calling her name over the loud speaker, we spotted her. I was so scared! The girls had fun, so I guess that's all that matters.

Happy Birthday Aspen!
Classic Cars and Cheerleaders Parade
Yesterday the girls and I braved going alone and have fun at the Classic Cars and College Cheerleaders Parade! I like bringing the girls to this parade because there are not a lot of people and they have a better chance of catching beads and such! Mary Claire is really getting into it and was actually catching the beads! Molly was content to pick up the candy that no one caught! :)
We will definitely have to make some Christmas parades this year! Next year at this time I hope to be enjoying Disney World!

Budweiser Clydesdales
The Budweiser Clydesdales were in Alexandria to help celebrate Mardi Gras! We went to see them at one of the free to the public viewings at the Coliseum.
Galveston Get-away
Brian and I took off a few days and drove to Galveston, TX. Nannie and Poppa kept the girls for two nights, and we greatly appreciate it!
Here's just a few pictures from our getaway.
