Zoo Play Date!

At the end of church this morning, we picked up Genevieve and headed out for a fun play date.  We headed to McDonald's, got our food and then we went to the zoo.  We went straight to the picnic tables at the playground for a McDonald's picnic!  After eating, the girls played on the slides, climbed on the animals and played hide and go seek!  After a while at the playground, we cleaned up, found the restrooms and then went to see the animals!  After the zoo, we loaded up and went to Sonic for half-price slushes!  A great day, for sure!

We had a dead roach by the back door. I told the girls it probably came in trying to get out of the rain last night. 

In all seriousness, Mary Claire looked at me and said, "Did it just open the door?"

A sleepover, playing hooky and watermelon eating!

Aunt Aspen had told the girls that they could spend the night one night.  We decided they could stay last night since I was off from work today, and I would go meet them out there to swim.  Well, Aunt Nel had Brandon and Christopher, so they drove over and met us!

The girls did good at the sleepover; Molly got scared once, but was okay when Aspen laid with her.  I think Molly thought I was going to work!

Fun Stuff Catch-up!

Saturday, July 13, the girls and I got dressed and headed to the zoo while Daddy slept.  We ran into Aunt Aspen, Tucker and Anna!

After the zoo, we met up with Daddy and Uncle David for lunch at Chick-fil-A!  Then, we came home to take a nap and see Daddy.  Aunt Aspen had cooked some pulled pork and we went to their house to eat, and then to the rodeo at Centerpoint!  A new experience for sure!

Tucker participated in the mutton-busting (sheep-riding) and the goat flipping!  This was cheap entertainment, but lots of fun!  Uncle David will have to let us know when the next one is!

Slip-n-slide Fun!

Saturday after church, Uncle David invited us out to swim and eat hot dogs!  Aunt Aspen had their slip-n-slide out and the girls loved it!! 

Now they are asking for one for our house....a Princess one with gold on it!

I can't wait to see a picture and hear his name!

Worth Every Penny…

So tonight Mary Claire swallowed a penny. Poor baby is terrified! Of course, Daddy is not home. 

I don't know how it happened. She was on the couch and I was in the kitchen. All of a sudden she jumps up crying, screaming PENNY and pointing in her mouth. 

So far, she is scared she's going to have to go to jail, she's worried her teeth will be messed up and she's concerned her voice will change. And she doesn't want me to tell her teacher tomorrow!

Guess Brian and I will be monitoring poop for a few days!

Gattitown in Lafayette

Friday, July 5, Daddy needed to go to Lafayette to pick something up.  He wanted to go eat at Judice Inn, a hole-in-the-wall hamburger joint, but they were closed.  So we ended up at Gattitown (much like Chuck E Cheese).

I also need to note that we got caught in a MONSOON on the way to the mall from Barnes and Nobles.  We were all soaked and walked around the mall to dry off!

 

 

Swim lessons

This year was our first year of swim lessons!  We signed up through LC; it was a little disorganized, but overall okay.  Daddy and I learned a lot of tricks to help, so hopefully we can keep it up!

July 4th Activities!

For July 4th, we headed to Uncle David and Aunt Aspen's house to swim!

Later that night, after baths, Nannie picked us up and we headed to see the fireworks downtown on the river.  But first, we watched some on our own street!

We had a LONG and fun day!
