Molly's busted lip

Thursday morning around 10:00, Molly's teacher called to tell me that Molly had run into another girl on the way to the bathroom and had a pretty bad busted lip. She said there was lots of blood and a cut, but that Molly was tough. I talked to Molly and she wanted me to come check on her. Once I got there I could tell it hurt; she looked so sad in her eyes. She ended up leaving school with me so I could give her some Motrin. Poor baby didn't talk for over an hour!  The pictures don't do it justice.

This is how she held her mouth all Thursday evening. There is a big cut and ulcers forming on the inside.

This was this morning; you can see the bruising

Cold soccer morning

This morning started the "spring" soccer season; it was in the 30s for the girls' games at 8 and 9am!!

I'm really proud of Molly for getting in there and participating. She didn't want to at first, but she saw how fun it was and skipped all over the field!

Mary Claire did good, too. She lost some of her aggressiveness, but we could see her coming around. She scored two goals and their team won, unofficially.

Molly's Pre-K Mardi Gras Parade

The pre-k classes this year had a sunny, but cool day for their Mardi Gras parade. Nannie went with us and stood with Mary Claire to watch.

American Girl Doll Store

For the girls' Mardi Gras vacation, Nannie and I took them to the Amerian Girl Doll store in Dallas.

We left Sunday afternoon when Brian left to go back to Baton Rouge. Nannie found us a restaurant, The Bunker. It was the restaurant of the VanZandt Country Club!!

When we got to the hotel, we let the girls swim!

The next morning, we got up, ate breakfast then headed to the store.  The first thing we did was send my original doll, Molly, off to the doll hospital!

Isn't her little hospital gown so cute??

Then we looked around.

Daddy let us buy a doll each. Mary Claire got Julie and Molly got Caroline.

At 11:30, we had reservations at the bistro. The new dolls sat in high chairs at our table. The food was so-so.

We had a fun day, but left shortly afterwards because winter weather was moving in!
