Christmas Morning 2012

Clockwise from top left: Molly, Mary Claire, both girls and Taylor's Santa loot!

This is all the pictures I got of Christmas morning, but I did get a sweet video so I'll always have the memories!
Only Mary Claire would pose by herself...isn't she just beautiful?!?!

Our Christmas Tree 2012

I can't wait to show y'all pictures of our TREES next year!  I love how just about every ornament on our tree has a meaning behind it.  Brian and I make it a point to try to get an ornament from every place we travel; I love this tradition and hope to continue it with him for many more years to come!

Reindeer food!

Mary Claire made some "Reindeer food" at her Christmas party at school the Friday before Christmas.  I am so fortunate that Mr. Tommy let me leave early to get pictures of Mary Claire, Molly and Daddy spreading out the reindeer food!

What a cute idea!

Christmas at Nannie and Poppa's 2012

Mary Claire, Molly and Anna all got dolls from Nannie!
We had a wonderful, but shortened Christmas at Nannie and Poppa's the Sunday before Christmas.  (Nannie, Poppa  and Aunt Martha had to leave to go set Granddad's funeral arrangements.)  We made the most of our time, though!  Nannie cooked a delicious meal, we ate and then opened gifts!  I think everyone was happy with everything!
Nannie and Poppa surprised Mary Claire, Molly and Tucker with plasma cars!  They are so neat!  They can hold up to 200 lbs, so I may have to get out there and try one!  Hahaha!  Don't worry Anna, you can share ours when you get older!
All in all, we  had a great time!

Brodnax Christmas 2012

As you can see, we had a great time with Brian's family a few weeks before Christmas!  Our house was full of kids (and adults), food and presents!

I think everyone had a great time and we look forward to next year!

Santa's Christmas Prayer

Santa's Christmas Prayer

On Christmas Eve the other night
I saw the most amazing sight,
for there beneath the Christmas tree
was Santa kneeling on his knee.
His countenance was different than
that all-familiar, jolly grin;
his head was bowed, with hand to breast, and
slightly tucked into his vest.
For there in a nativity
was Jesus and His family,
and as I heard him start to pray
I listened close to what he'd say.
"Lord, You know that You're the reason
I take pleasure in this season.
I don't want to take Your place,
but just reflect Your wondrous grace.
I hope you'll help them understand
I'm just an ordinary man,
who found a way to do Your will
by finding kids with needs to fill.
But all those centuries ago,
there was no way for me to know
that they would make so much of me,
and all the gifts beneath the tree.
They think I have some hidden power
granted at the midnight hour,
but it is my love for You
inspiring the things I do.
And so when they begin to open
gifts for which they have been hoping,
may they give You all the glory,
for You're the One True Christmas story."

What a wonderful poem for us all to reflect on the real meaning of this Christmas season!

Granddaddy

Heaven gained a 94 year old angel last night.  Granddaddy passed away about 1030pm on December 22, 2012.  He was always so kind and soft-spoken; I don't think I ever heard him raise his voice or show disappointment.  We know he is in a better place, and we thank God for his 94 years on this Earth.

My beautiful girls

Catch up post #5 - Four-wheeling with Poppa

Poppa was moving his four-wheeler, so he asked the girls if they wanted to ride - Mary Claire jumped right on.....

and Molly finally saw how much fun Mary Claire was having and got on!

These girls are so lucky to have Nannie and Popp!

Catch up post #4 - Disney Christmas Lights

I love how Snow White looks like she sees something behind Molly!
Gammie and Granddad's neighbors, The Piazzas have all the Disney characters made out of wooden cut-outs; they decorate their yard and Gammie and Granddad's yards every Christmas.

The girls spent some time "visiting" each character.  (Pics not very good quality, but oh well!)

It sure is hard to get a four- and two-year old to stand still around Disney characters!
