Off the charts!
Pediatrician update:

Height: 26.25 inches
Weight: 16lbs 11oz (scale said exactly 17lbs, but they subtracted clothes weight)
Shots: not bad! Mary Claire cried during and for just one minute after! She has been in a surprisingly good mood today, too.
Food: got the go ahead! Check out this picture from about 30 minutes ago (yummy squash!):
Teething: No way to know unless teeth pop in!
Sleeping: 4 month olds should still wake up at night to eat. Guess she is typical!
"Eye boogers": she is too young for it to be allergies - probably blocked tear ducts. We have to massage the bridge of her nose four times a day.
Birthmark: is a hemangioma - a "strawberry" - will continue to fill in until a year old and then disappear.
Head shape: Mary Claire has a "flat spot" in the back of her head. The doctor actually kind of applauded us for this - for her always sleeping on her back. He said it is perfectly normal, but he did tell us to lay her to where interesting things to her are to her right. This will allow the left side, or flat side, to round out! Whew!!
Almost going back to tummy:

I am so anxious for Mary Claire's 4 month pediatrician appointment on Monday. Formula is just not holding her over! This big mama needs some FOOD! We know she knows how to eat from when we gave her the applesauce last weekend, but we stopped because I'd like to hear what the pediatrician has to say. Plus, Mary Claire had some serious diarrhea for a few days after the applesauce and we didn't know if that is what caused it or not. She was also EXTREMELY fussy! We thought she may be teething, but I now think she had a little virus that Brian, Taylor and I all had. So hopefully Monday we will get the definite green light!
I definitely thought Mary Claire would be sleeping through the night by now, but nope! She teases us with a few days here and there, but nothing consistent. AND MOMMY IS GETTING TO THE POINT THAT SHE NEEDS A FULL NIGHT'S SLEEP! Even when Daddy gets up with Mary Claire, I hear it so I'm still awake! I personally think that once she starts on solid foods on a regular basis she will sleep longer. Let's hope!
I was hoping the weather would be nice tomorrow so Mary Claire and I could meet Daddy at cousin Ashton's first ever t-ball game, but I just checked the weather and it's supposed to be cold tomorrow! So it doesn't look like that will be happening!
Well, it's time for Mommy to get on the treadmill. Mommy's weight-loss has been great! Just about two more pounds and a little more toning up and she will feel great about herself again!
Enjoy the pictures!
How sweet is this????:
She literally fell asleep just like this after her bottle!:
She really plays well!:

Now ready for spoon-feeding solids???
Brian and I were sitting at the table eating supper (Taylor was eating outside!) and we had Mary Claire in her Bumbo seat sitting with us. Well, she just kept whining and whining and watching us eat. So I jumped up, got her two spoons and some applesauce. I gave her one spoon and fed her with the other. She knew EXACTLY what to do....she opened her mouth and took the spoon and ate! She ate about half of the little container! Wow....what a difference a few weeks makes, huh?!?!!! I think we will stick to the applesauce for about 4 or 5 days to make sure she has no reactions to it (she didn't last time when she got a little bit) and then move onto veggies....I want her to eat the "best healthy stuff!"
Hope you enjoyed the video!

BIG news!
Well, this morning in my quick update I said that Mary Claire was not rolling over, right??? Well, guess what?!?!! Yep, she's rolling over! She rolls from her tummy to her back! Daddy told me that she did it the other night once, so I just attributed it to a fluke. But, he was right! I put Mary Claire on her tummy, and there she went....rolled right over! I am so excited!!!!

Mary Claire had a good day with Mommy and Daddy today. We went to Target and Wal-Mart, and then Daddy went and picked up Taylor. Mary Claire sat in her Bumbo seat for a good hour while Daddy cooked and we had alot of fun taking pictures! Enjoy them! Mary Claire is loving her Bumbo seat! She loves sitting up and looking around and taking everything in. My baby is growing up so fast! Mary Claire also got to spend some time outside this evening....Mommy replanted some plants and Daddy and Taylor played basketball. Mary Claire is also now sitting in her stroller like a big girl, too! Wow....lots of accomplishments recently, huh???
A quick update
I haven't updated lately on what Miss Mary Claire has been up to! First off....I think she is at the point of sleeping through the night! For the past week or so she has slept from an average of 10pm to about 5am! Yippee! It varies by 30 or so minutes, but it has been pretty consistent! Finally!!!!

Mary Claire wants to sit up ALL the time. When she is laying flat on her back she is doing little crunches, lifting her head and shoulders off the floor/couch/etc to try to sit up. Even if she is reclined in her swing or bouncy seat she tries to sit straight up! Crazy girl....you aren't even 4 months old yet!! She is LOVING sitting in her Bumbo seat, being able to look all around. She is doing wonderfully with her head and neck control!
When Mary Claire is in the right mood she will lay on her activity mat or sit in her bouncy seat for a good 20-30 minutes just playing with the toys dangling down! She loves to reach up and grab them! It is amazing how fast babies learn!
We have been giving Mary Claire a little bit of cereal in more bottles during the day. Our big girl just doesn't seem satisfied with only formula anymore. This past weekend when I was off with her she was wanting to eat every 2-2.5 hours! That just won't cut it!!!
Mary Claire has not officially rolled over yet. It seems she may accidentally do it, but nothing near consistent yet. For some reason I am very excited for this milestone....and I don't know why! She's going to be crazy when she gets mobile I'm afraid!!
We go to the pediatrician on March 30 for Mary Claire's 4 month appointment. I am both excited and nervous for this! Excited to see how big she has gotten and excited to get the "official" go-ahead on solid foods. Nervous about the shots....ugh!!!
We hope everyone is doing good! Mommy and Daddy are both off today so Mommy is hoping to go to the Nursery Festival. I think Mary Claire would enjoy the fresh air...if it warms up enough! Daddy is outside mowing our grass for the first time this year....so appropriately on the first day of Spring! Yay....bring on the warmer weather!!!
I just wanted to thank everyone for following the blog. I am one proud momma and I'm loving this journey!

First bad day at day care or not?!?!
Well, when I went to pick Mary Claire up from day care yesterday, the afternoon girl, Amy, told me that Mary Claire had a bad day. She said the other girl said she was fussy all day and just had a rough day! Her little paper with her information on it said that they tried to comfort her as best they could, that she had a rough day, and that she chewed on her hands all day. So, first bad day! Brian was funny...he said he was glad she gave them hell!
So when I dropped Mary Claire off this morning, the other girl tells me that Mary Claire did NOT have a bad day and she was upset that Mary Claire was fed at 0830 and then again at 1040. She said after she fed her at 0830 she was fussy and gassy, but she gave her some simethicone drops and burped her and she was fine. So who knows!!! All I know is she was fine last night and this morning. I hated to leave her this morning...she was in such a good mood after her bottle! But we get all weekend together, so that is good!
We gave Mary Claire some Gerber White Grape Juice the other night. We diluted it 1:1 with some water. She drank about an ounce, but we got some extremely funny faces! We took a few pictures, so I will post them this weekend. Sorry I've been slacking; I feel like a "normal" person this week working 4 day shifts in a row before my weekend off, and I'm not used to it!
