Our weekend....an update

Saturday was Nannie's birthday, so Mary Claire and I went to spend the day with her. We gave Nannie her birthday present and she loved everything! Yay! Then we went and ran some errands and met Papa John and Uncle David at The Cottage for lunch. Mary Claire is normally a very good shopper, but I think because it was so hot outside and she was having to go in and out of the car and her car seat she just wasn't happy! But she wasn't bad, just not as good as she normally is! Mary Claire and I then went to church with Nannie, Papa John, Gammie, Granddad and Uncle Thomas. So she had a busy day!

Sunday was also a busy day for us! It was Father's Day! So Happy (Belated) Father's Day to all the daddies we didn't get to see on Sunday! Mary Claire and I went to Gammie's for lunch. Mary Claire tried some of Nannie's potato salad, Aunt Billie's green beans and Gammie's banana pudding! Yummy! Here are some pictures from our Sunday Father's Day lunch.....

After lunch at Gammie's house, Mary Claire and Nannie went back to Nannie's house and took a long nap! Uncle David and I took Papa John to play 9 holes of golf. We had a lot of fun, but it was HOT! Then we packed everything up and came home to celebrate Father's Day with Brian, Taylor and Grandpa (Brian's dad). Papa John grilled some delicious steaks and we had baked potatoes, corn on the cob, salad, petit fours, brownies and sand tarts......yummy, yummy!

After everyone left, I wanted to get a picture of Brian and his baby girl on their 1st Father's Day together, but after Mary Claire's long weekend, all she wanted was her bottle and her our bed. These pictures were the end results:

Poor baby!

Mary Claire had a few new accomplishments this weekend! She has learned to wave "bye-bye!" She also went from a sitting position to being on her stomach twice that I saw! Maybe she's trying to get somewhere!

Sleeping Beauty

She was reeeeallllllyyy tired to be sleeping on her back - her new sleeping position is either side or, more recently, belly! Yes, this is night time and she's right in the middle of Mommy and Daddy's sides!

She fell asleep just like this sitting up on the couch!

Thank you...

to all my FRIENDS who responded to my blog about feeling "friendless." I just wanted each and every one of y'all to know how much your words through your e-mails and messages mean to me. They made me realize that I do need to step back and realize how truly blessed I am. I will take the time to get into contact with each of you when Brian and I get back from our vacation without Mary Claire. I'm excited to go, but still sad that I'm going to leave my baby girl.

Thank you again!

Little update

I have some really cute pictures of Mary Claire I need to post, but our Internet at home is having issues. But I thought I would stop in here while I'm at work and give you all an update on her 6 month appointment that was Monday.

Mary Claire weighed in at a whopping 19lbs 12oz! Big girl! And she measured 28in - that is 8 inches in 6 months! Wow!!

We had to fill out a little questionnaire about the skills Mary Claire could and could not do. Her doctor said she is right on track! Yay! He just said to try to get her used to being on her stomach more, so we've been doing that more and more throughout the day. It is hard to do because she gets upset and just rolls over, but we are trying! So she got a great report - and we don't have to go back until 9 months and NO shots then (but she has to have her finger stuck to test for anemia).

The shots went much better than I was expecting! She did not even cry when the needle went in, but she did cry when the liquid went in. Then she did not even cry after! That's my girl!

So there's the update. Hopefully our home computer will start feeling better so I can share some pictures soon!
