At the ballpark

We have gone twice lately to watch cousin Ashton play baseball!  The weather has been really nice, and the girls really love getting candy at the ballpark!

Molly got my camera and took these pictures:

Looks like a pro!

This girl is finally smiling for pictures!

Froyo!

Yesterday was OLPS Night at Spoons, a local frozen yogurt joint. You choose your own flavor, how much you want and then your toppings. Both girls ate all of theirs. Molly then ate the last bit of mine. So Brian got each girl some more. Mary Claire ate half of her second serving; Molly ate all of hers - plus the rest of Mary Claire's!!

PreSchool Parent Lunch

Today Brian and I went to OLPS to eat lunch with Mary Claire.  She is such a mini-me, rule follower!  She walked on the line and didn't speak, just like she was supposed to do!

We ate turkey, rice and gravy, green peas, salad, mixed fruit and milk!

Saturday afternoon after Mass

Poppa rode them all over Gammie's house in the wheelchair!

Black eye

Mary Claire got her first black eye, courtesy of Molly hitting her with a flashlight!

Ouch!!

Angola Prison Rodeo

Nannie, Poppa and I took Mary Claire and Molly to the Angola Prison Rodeo!  This was something everyone should experience!

They have "Hobbycrafts" set up; the prisoners build/make different items that they sell.  If you find something you want to buy, the prisoner gives you a ticket, you pay the cashier to give them credit, and then bring the ticket back to the prisoner and get the item you bought.  I bought the girls a little paper storybook, some writing pads for the girls and a wooden end table; Nannie bought a canvas print that says something to the effect, "Angola Prison Rodeo...No Guts No Glory!"

The rodeo itself was also something to see; it is not your typical rodeo!  The prisoners are the cowboys and there are different events.  Twice the EMS had to carry prisoners out of the arena on stretchers!

Sadly, no cameras or cell phones were allowed, so the only picture I have to prove we were there is this souvenir picture of us on a bull (Blue Duck was his name, I think)!!

Hayden's birthday party!

Saturday was Hayden's 9th birthday!  The girls were invited to his birthday party at McDonald's!!

Birthday Boy!
We had to wake Molly up from her nap, so she sat with Aunt Aspen for a while!

Sweet Anna!!

Anna was talking to me!!

Genevieve's birthday!

The day of the Tree House field trip was also Genevieve's birthday!!  Happy 4th birthday Genevieve!!

Mary Claire was invited to go eat frozen yogurt with Genevieve and some other girls, but Mary Claire was the only one who could go.  Isn't this the sweetest picture of two beautiful girls?!!?

Tree House Field Trip

On April 17, Mary Claire's class took a field trip to the Tree House; it is a small children's museum in downtown Alexandria.  Daddy was off from work, so he took her.  Daddy said she pretty much played alone and would interact with the other kids briefly, but every child seemed to act the same way.

Looks like she had a great time!

Birds poop where??

The girls and I were outside swinging on their playset.  Mary Claire looks over to the seesaw swing and sees some bird poop.

"Why did that bird poop on our swing?  That's not his toilet!!"

Too funny, too funny!

Cotile Trade Days!

We had a busy, busy, busy weekend....and the girls and I loved it!  Sunday morning we went to church with Nannie, then ate spaghetti with Nannie and Poppa, and then went with Uncle David, Aunt Aspen, Tucker and Anna to the Cotile Trade Days!

Mary Claire, Molly and Tucker shopping!

Poor Anna didn't feel good :(

She just told David she doesn't smile for pictures!  This was the face she gave me!

She posed for me!

Sweet shot of Uncle David and the girls

Proof I was there!  Haha - trying to get in more pictures!

Dogwood Festival and Kent House Herb Day

Yesterday, the girls and I went with Nannie and Aunt Nel to Pollock for the Dogwood Festival.  To be honest, it was mostly a big garage sale with just a few booths selling crafts.  But, the highlight was the parade; we got LOTS of candy!  The girls really enjoyed that part!

That's a BIG Smoky the Bear!

They also had a classic cars show

Waiting on the parade...

Women on motorcycles!

The queen

And a bride on a horse....

After the parade, we hurried and headed to the Kent House for Herb Day!  I bought the girls some precious handmade dolls, and Nannie and Aunt Nel each bought a few things.  I only took two pictures there....

Cute one of Mary Claire in front of some roses....Molly would NOT take a good picture like this!

And Molly eating Cheetos...yucky!
We then went to eat at Sombrero's (yummy!) and attempted to shop, but the girls were too cranky, so we left!  All in all, a FUN day and we need to do it again!
