Molly's birth story

With the birth of Anna, I've been thinking back that I never posted Molly's birth story. While it was planned and pretty uneventful, I'd still like her to know about it.

Since Mary Claire was a c-section baby, we had the option of a scheduled repeat c-section or a vbac. Since Mary Claire was so big and I had failed to dilate even with the aid of 12 hours of pitocin, we decided to just schedule a c-section.

Molly was due September 21st, so her arrival was scheduled for September 14th, and I was very excited that this was a day in September that was no one else's special day.

We were told to arrive at 5:30am. Once we got there, the Iv was started and fluids were started. The epidural was placed and I had to have a few boluses of Ephedrine due to the epidural dropping my blood pressure. Once everything was stabilized and my doctor got there I was wheeled to the c-section room and the procedure started. I remember my doctor saying that at 8:08 they were making the incision and Molly Catherine was born at 8:18am! She and Brian went back to our room while I finished getting stitched back together. During that time I had a horrible pain in my shoulders and neck that hurt so bad I was in tears and asked for something to help it.

I was wheeled back to our room to meet sweet Molly (at this point Brian and I still had not decided between the names Madeline and Molly and he told she was definitely Molly!). I was told she weighed 8 pounds 14.5 ounces and was 21 inches long!

And that's Molly's birth story!
