Creating Memories

Brian and I were talking the other day on our trip to Arlington (another blog post for another day) about living in Alexandria versus a big city. He was complaining that "we have nothing to do here and there's so much more to offer in a big city." So I've made it my mission to find fun and interesting things around town for our family to do.

I've been picking up a local publication called "Cenla Focus" and have found some activities in there. One I found was a Civil War tent area reconstruction and then a war re-enactment. We didn't get to stay for the re-enactment because I had to get home and go to work, but we did go see everything else.

This was held at: This guy was talking about embalming soldiers to send their bodies home to their families and this is a picture Mary Claire took of the chemicals:

After our trip to history, we ate at and let the girls play at the "Yellow M" as Mary Claire sometimes calls McDonald's!:

In this picture, Mary Claire has just bumped heads with the other girl behind her!

And, to top it off, this Civil War event was FREE!!!!
